Are you or is an employee of yours already at level A2 or higher in the Dutch language and are there any issues that you (or he) would like to have a better command of? Do you want to increase your command of Dutch? That is possible with TaalGlobaal, for instance with lessons by e-mail. There are two courses and both courses contain 8 lessons. One course is about sentence structure and grammar, the other is about word choice and correct use of words. A student can start whenever he chooses to: a simple email for registration is sufficient. The costs: 400 (484 incl. VAT) for a complete course (A or B) 

These are the lessons of the two courses:

Course A: NT2 lessons in Grammar and Sentence Structure

Lesson A1: Formulate question/use question words. How do you form an interrogative sentence and which question words can you use for this? Why is it Jij komt vandaag but also Kom je vandaag?

Lesson A2: The word order in main sentences and sub-sentences + conjunction (use of conjunctions like toen, omdat, hoewel, want, dus, en, zodra, etc.) Ik kom niet omdat ik ziek ben next to Ik kom niet want ik ben ziek. Why is the word order so complicated?

Lesson A3: Conjugation of regular verbs (with ‘soft ketchup’): is it hij houd or hij houdt? Ik word or ik wordt? When do you write a -t behind the stem of a verb and when don’t you? How do you put regular verbs in the past tense? And: the imperative: doe dit, doet u dat, kom hier, komt u maar, etc. 

Lesson A4: Conjugation of irregular verbs in the imperfectum and perfectum: When do you use hebben and when do you use zijn in the perfectum: ik heb gewerkt and Ik ben gegaan. When do you say Ik deed and when Ik heb gedaan? How do you shape the past tense of irregular verbs and what does it mean when a past participle is used ‘adjectively’?

Lesson A5: Conjugation verbs participium (past participle) and the formation of passive sentences. Het werk is gedaan, het werk word gedaan, het werk zal worden gedaan. The passive form is complicated but important.

Lesson A6: Use of infinitives in the sentence, for example with modal verbs, or with te or aan het (we kunnen eten, dat hoeven we niet te doen, we willen ons haar laten knippen, we zijn aan het lezen)

Lesson A7: Use of the words er and daar. What functions can the word er have, when can you also use daar and where should those words be in the sentence? (ik ben er al, hij komt eraan, ik heb er drie, ik hou er/daar niet van, etc.)

Lesson A8: Frequently used expressions and sayings in Dutch (je moet wel aan de bel trekken, dat slaat helemaal nergens op, je weet nooit hoe een koe een haas vangt, we zetten de schouders eronder, ammehoela! etc.)

Course B: NT2 lessons Word choice and Word use

Lesson B1: Prepositions: op, onder, voor, tegen, aan, etc: what do they mean and how do you use them? Also in fixed expressions such as: we rekenen op, we wijzen iets aan, ik ben zwanger van, ik geef informatie door, etc. 

Lesson B2: Personal pronoun/possessive pronoun/object form (ik, jij, hij etc. but also me, mij, mijn, jouw, ons, onze, hun, hen, etc.)

Lesson B3: Substantives: plural, diminutive and adjective/comparative. Het-words and de-words, how do you form the plural (jongens, boeken) and the diminutive (gangetje, lampje, stoeltje)? What does the matching adjective look like? (het mooie huis, de mooie huizen, een mooi huis, een mooier huis, etc.)

Lesson B4: Negation. How do you make the sentence negative? By using geen or niet. Where do those words come in the sentence and when do you choose one or the other?

Lesson B5: Use of the relative pronoun (waarmee, met wie, hetgeen, waarvan etc.), and the demonstrative pronoun (die, dit, dat, deze)

Lesson B6: Reflexive verbs and the reflexive pronouns (zich gedragen, ik gedraag me, hij geeft zich ergens voor op, etc.)

Lesson B7: Separable verbs and word order (oprichten, uitlachen, etc.: ik richt een bedrijf op, ik lach mijn vriend nooit uit, ik zou je nooit uitlachen, ik heb hem nooit uitgelachen, etc.)

Lesson B8: Use of zullen/zouden. Not only in the futurum but also in other ways. (Zullen we gaan eten? Ik zou wel rijk willen zijn, Morgen zal het beter zijn, ze zouden komen maar het gaat niet door, etc.)

Each lesson consists of a part theory/explanation and a part with exercises. You do these exercises and email them to TaalGlobaal. You will get them back with feedback and further explanation and at the same time you will receive the next lesson.
